Michael Schultz

I grew up on a diversified family farming and ranching operation. Those rural values and that high-plains-perspective inform all of my work. Our agricultural clients appreciate my intimate familiarity with every aspect of agricultural production because I share their values and I understand their goals. As a result, this firm has the privilege of representing some of the largest and most innovative agricultural and renewable energy producers in the Pacific Northwest. Our clients appreciate the firm’s expertise across a wide range of agricultural, renewable energy, and natural resource matters. We take the time to understand client operations and we have an unrelenting focus on delivering client value.

My legal expertise is primarily focused on negotiating complex transactions and on drafting clear, linear, and concise contractual language. I have extensive negotiating and drafting experience and I enjoy assisting clients evaluating risk mitigation options in highly-regulated industries.

Prior to founding this law firm with Lolly, I clerked for Districts Attorney in Oregon and California. I assisted the Oregon Water Resources Congress with Clean Water Act issues before gaining civil litigation experience at a firm engaged in the Klamath Basin Adjudication.
